Hello Team HOKC walkers!

The Believe Walk is this Sunday, October 6th! We have about 2 dozen walkers on our team and have raised over $2000! Thank you for all of your support!!

If you weren't able to check-in early, plan to arrive at the walk by 6:30AM to get your bib number for walking.  I'm pretty sure that the on-site check-in will be near the beginning of the walk at State St. and Orange St. (basically where State St. runs into the Old Relands Mall parking lot where CVS is).  Look for signs!!

If you were able to check-in early, plan to meet your team at one of these two locations on Sunday:

• Option 1 - Meet in the parking lot of HOKC and either walk (1.1 miles) or form carpools to Downtown Redlands. We will meet in the HOKC parking lot and at 6:30AM head to the front of the Post Office on Brookside and Eureka.

• Option 2 - Make your own way to Downtown Redlands and meet in front of the Post Office on Brookside and Eureka. It's only about 1.5 blocks from the start of the walk but I'm hoping it will be away from much of the crowd and it is fairly close to the end of the walk. We will plan to convene there at 7AM and head over to the start at about 7:15AM

Remember to wear your HOKC Believe Walk shirt, and to bring your knitting if you plan to walk and knit.

Looking forward to seeing all of you on Sunday! Your team captain, Brigid

In our local fiber arts community, HOKC, we all know someone who has fought cancer.  By joining or donating to a member of our team, you will be a part of a life-changing event that brings together a larger community with one purpose; to support cancer survivors, those who are still in treatment and their families.

We hope we can count on your support. We need caring people like you to sponsor our team’s participation in the walk.

The “Believe Walk” brings a community together with a purpose; to support cancer survivors, cancer patients, and their families in the Inland Empire communities of Southern California. Stater Bros. Charities & Inland Women Fighting Cancer started the Believe Walk with a simple vision, to create an event that honors cancer survivors and support those who are still on their cancer journey.

The “Believe Walk” has grown from 1500 participants the first year to over 12,000. Each year has seen an increase of participation and fundraising efforts. The commitment of the community to fundraise has made it possible for Stater Bros. Charities and Inland Women Fighting Cancer to make contributions to the Loma Linda Cancer Resource Center, St. Bernardine Medical Center “Imaging Center”, Redlands Community Hospital Oncology, Michelle’s Place and many more cancer fighting organizations. All funds raised through this site directly benefits cancer fighting organizations.
